St Peter and St Paul's in Algakirk is a beautiful medieval church. Containing nationally significant Victorian stained glass and decorations. The works consisted of re-roofing the Nave and Porch following an incident of lead theft. CEL Group (1989) Limited re-covered one side of the Nave in terne coat stainless steel including any masonry repairs as a result of the lead theft, then completed structural carpentry required to the Porch before re-covering also in terne coat stainless steel. Within this contract we had to overcome many challenges such as the works being undertaken throughout a time of national crisis and material shortages, the team had to be as efficient in usage of resources and time to complete the works when possible.
