The C.E.L Group (1989) Limited are specialists in the Conservation & Restoration of some of the nations most cherished historic buildings.
Operating Nationwide, our highly experienced in-house team of experienced time served specialist Heritage craftsmen bring a vast portfolio of previous projects within the Restoration sector, meaning we are perfectly positioned to meet any challenge that some of these fantastic structures can often throw at us.
Establishing long-term working relationships
Our craftsmen are fully backed by our new vibrant, forward-thinking management team breathing a new lease of life into the company. With a desire for a fully collaborative approach, we are looking to establish long term working relationships with clients & Architects, both old & new. We aim to establish a mutual trust with our clients whilst completing restoration works to the highest possible standards, whilst maintaining budgetary information & control throughout the process.
At the very core of our business plan is the establishment of mutually beneficial, long-term working relationships. This is not only with clients & architects, but also material suppliers, bonafide specialist sub-contractors, health & safety partners. The stronger the bonds and trust between these parties, the better services we can offer as relationships are forged.
Ethos
Our ethos is always to conserve & restore sympathetically. To this end, we will continue to develop and train our team of craftsmen. We are committed to introducing apprentices to our business to reap the benefits of working alongside our established tradesmen. This allows the transfer of skills and maintenance of trades that are becoming scarcer every year. As our craftsmen retire, we aim to ensure that their skills are not lost to the industry, and the baton is carried forward by the next generation.

Modern Management.
Whilst the nature of the buildings we are favoured to work on is from the past; we are keen to ensure that our management techniques are modern and of the future. With our new management team containing the perfect balance of youth aligned to experience, we are ideally placed to develop using modern management skills allied to our
craftsmen’s traditional skills, ensuring that works are completed to the highest possible standards whilst project management is efficient, effective and informative. We will ensure that financial, budgetary information is regularly updated through the build to avoid any nasty shocks & surprises.
We recognise the need for flexibility with regards to the programming of works and interface of trades. Therefore, we have invested in the training of our skilled tradesmen, ensuring that an increasing proportion is multi-trade. This provides programming interface benefits alongside financial savings for our customers.
Minimal Disruption
We will always strive to ensure the minimum of disruption for our clients, working with them to allow them to go about as much of their normal day to day business during the build. Whether this be events or services, we will pre-plan ahead to allow as much of the normal functions to continue.
Health & Safety
C.E.L Group (1989) Limited put Health & Safety first on all of our projects. As a priority, all scaffolds are full hoarded & alarmed. We are fully CHAS registered and regularly audited by an external Health & Safety consultant to ensure our standards are checked & maintained. This is in conjunction with our in-house Health and Safety management, documents & procedures.
Our Work
Working in the main now as Principal Contractors, we have an ever-increasing portfolio of completed projects which can be viewed elsewhere on this website. These projects can range from £1m+ Castles or Cathedrals down to £30k churches. However, irrespective of project value, rest assured that each will receive the same care & attention that historic structures deserve.
On each project, we will compile regular site reports detailing photographs of progress along with progress against programme & budgetary updates. This ensures that all parties are regularly updated throughout the build.
