St Leonard's Church, Watlington has stood since Norman times, with major building in the 14th and 19th centuries. The church is currently open 7 days a week to the public. The works we were appointed involved re-covering the North aisle roof with associated works and repairing the nave and transept. We firstly carried out the North aisle restoration which consisted of; removing the failing copper flashings and roof covering, replacing the timberwork which required renewal, then fitting the new copper roof, copper flashings (which were pointed with lime putty) and installing code 4 lead aprons. The nave and transept repairs included the installation of a copper ridge band, removing and replacing all broken clay tiles, refixing all slipped tiles, replacement of rainwater goods and lime mortar repointing to the required areas.
