Soham Town Council

Contract Duration:

7 Months

Value:

£155,000

The Soham Cemetery Chapel remains in the ownership of Soham Town Council, whilst the North Chapel is now under a trusteeship. Both structures are Grade II listed buildings built between 1840 and 1870. We were appointed by the Council to undertake extensive restoration works, which included a complete overhaul of the existing slate roof, structural carpentry, banker masonry, full internal traditional plastering and associated boundary flint wall repairs.

"From the first point of contact, CEL staff were very professional, helpful and knowledgeable about the restoration of the South Chapel in Soham Cemetery. The workmanship was of a very high standard and quality, and we found all the staff very helpful in answering our questions as they arose during the restoration. CEL kept us informed of progress at all times and also allowed us to visit the site and physically check on the progress of the project whenever we wanted to. We would highly recommend CEL and use them again for any other restoration work projects that may arise."
