The Church of St Mary is a Grade I listed building, the church is utilised as the village centre for the community of Wilsford for nearly one thousand years. We were appointed main contractor to re-cover the North aisle, South aisle and vestry roofs in terne-coated stainless steel and carry out all associated works involved. The detail in-between the roof abutment and clear storey flashing joint required specific care and attention as we identified this as a weak point within the design. We proposed a detail specifically to this area to overcome this, we created a timber upstand which meant we could extend the lead coverage away from the building, meaning this would mitigate any future risk to water ingress.
