The church of St Botolph (Grade I listed) has stood as a centre in the village of Hadstock for nearly 1000 years. It plays an active part in the community life and is open almost every day. The door by which you enter the church has been dated back to 1034 which makes it the oldest working door in the country. We were appointed as main contractor to re-tile the Chancel roof and replace all rainwater goods. The tiles started to slip following nail fatigue, the mid-section of the Chancel roof had significantly slipped, requiring careful stripping of the remaining roof to ensure larger sections did not also work loose. An assortment of the existing tiles and new handmade tiles were relayed to re-secure the roof, finalised by the associated lead works.
